Blame Lori.

A. Pick 16 of your favorite movies.
B. Then pick one of your favorite quotes from each movie.
C. Post the quotes in your journal.
D. Have those on your friends list try to guess what the movie is.
E. Strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified and place the guesser's user name directly after the quote.

I'm not going to strike them, because then it makes them hard to read.

01. "No force field!"
Unsurprisingly, erinlin knew a line from The Incredibles when she heard it.

02. "She found all that out from a home pregnancy test?"
abductedsed recognised this line from Saved!, which is good, since he's the only person I've ever basically FORCED to watch that movie. Heh.

03. "The truth is important, but so are your friends. And if you can have them both . . . then it's a good life."
It takes Harriet until the very end of Harriet the Spy to realise this.

04. "I'm not Turkish or a sailor!"
Extreme Days really would've sucked if Matt hadn't come to this conclusion and then quit his job at the Turkish Sailor to go on the road trip with Corey, Brian, and Will.

05. "You mean t' say as . . . sex?"
"I mean to say."
"Aw, hell with this; I'm gonna live!"
Serenity, of course --- yay for stickyboy!

06. "Speaking as a completely objective third-party observer with absolutely no personal interest in the matter . . ."
suckswhen only knew this was from She's the Man because her sister recently rented it, but that's good enough for me.

07. "Oh look, balloons --- it is a party!"
Dory is my very favourite character in Finding Nemo; on paper (or rather, a computer screen), this line isn't the funniest ever, but the way she says it, it's hilarious.

08. "It is better that you should rush upon this blade than enter the circle with fear in your heart. How do you enter?"
"With perfect love and perfect trust."
As suckswhen and I both know, these lines are from The Craft.

09. "So here I am, standing in your doorway. I've always been standing in your doorway."
My new friend wordsmith1 and I connected over Spider-Man, so it's only fitting for him to know that this line is from Spider-Man 2.

10. "Flip --- your goddamn --- hair."
As tanz_fanatika and wordemup so rightly pointed out, this-here line is from Charlie's Angels.

11. "With a prompter in every cellar window whispering comebacks, shy people would have the last laugh."
allthegossip is a total stranger to me, but whoever s/he is, we've at least got Amelie in common.

12. "Mawwage. Mawwage is whot bwings us togevuh todae."
Jeremy probably would've gotten that, but stickyboy beat him to it.

13. "It happened in the parking lot --- the scar --- two years ago. In the middle of the day --- he held a knife to my throat the whole time. Ever since, I've been trying to convince myself of one thing over and over ---"
"That it was beyond your control?"
"No . . . that it would never happen again."
Her claim that I like it too much may have been more than a tad outlandish, but angelinthenite was correct when she said this was from Red Eye.

14. "Ex-boyfriends are off-limits to friends; I mean that's just like, the rules of feminism!"
whisper_lillies recognised this line from Mean Girls right off the bat 'cos she's phat like that. ---Oh wow, a rhyme! Yay for rhymes!

15. "The peasant! In the diner! . . . He didn't pay his check."
erinlin and tanz_fanatika both realised this one was from The Emperor's New Groove.

16. "Me? Kissing? A boy? You're mad; you're all bloody mad!"
Jess throws this accusation at her family toward the end of Bend it Like Beckham, after her sister's fiance's parents think they see her kissing a boy on a street corner.

Edit: Since most of these were guessed fairly quickly, I waited slightly more than twenty-four hours and revealed the few that hadn't been guessed yet.
